Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Fourfold FZ-LLC, a free zone limited liability company licensed by the Dubai Development Authority (licence 107103), of DMC-BLD05-VD-G00-926, Ground Floor, DMC5, Dubai Media City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("fourfold", "we"). They cover EnergyInfluence: the feed, the stories, the voice cards and the emails. The feed is open only to signed-in readers. You agree to these terms by ticking the box when you ask for a sign-in link, and we keep a record of the version you agreed to.

1. What EnergyInfluence is

EnergyInfluence follows what a fixed list of people and organisations in the energy sector say in public, and turns each statement into one line with a link to where it was said.

The lines, the story summaries and the grouping are written by AI models from the source text and checked by automated rules and a second model. They are summaries in our words, never quotations, and software checks each line against its source to make sure of that. They can be wrong: a line can miss a nuance, misstate a number or, rarely, be attached to the wrong person. The linked source is the record. Check it before you rely on a line, repeat it or act on it.

2. Who it is for

EnergyInfluence is for people using it in their work. By signing up you confirm that you are 18 or over and are using it for your business or profession, not as a consumer.

3. The tester phase

You are using an early version by invitation. It is free. It may change, break, pause or end without notice, and we may remove access at any time. If you send us feedback or ideas about the product, we may use them freely and without payment. We will not name you without asking.

4. What you may do with it

We give you a personal, non-transferable right to read and use EnergyInfluence for your own work and inside your own organisation. You may forward an occasional line or email to colleagues and clients with a link back.

You may not: resell or systematically redistribute the content; copy it into another product or service; collect it by automated means (scraping, bots, bulk download); or use it to train, fine-tune or evaluate a machine-learning model. We reserve our rights over text and data mining of this site.

The summaries, story lines and the selection and arrangement of the feed belong to fourfold. The statements they describe, and the pages we link to, belong to their authors and publishers.

5. The people and sources named

Everyone named in EnergyInfluence is named because of what they have said in public in a professional capacity. Being in the feed does not mean a person or organisation endorses, sponsors or is connected with EnergyInfluence or fourfold. Names and organisation names are used only to say who said what.

We are not responsible for the content of the pages we link to, or for whether they stay available. A source may be edited or removed after we read it.

6. Not advice

EnergyInfluence reports what people said. It is not investment, financial, legal or other professional advice, it makes no recommendations, and it is not a regulated financial service. Do not make a trading or investment decision on the strength of a line here.

7. Corrections and complaints

If a line is wrong, tell us at ross@fourfold.work, with the link. We aim to reply within five working days, and within two if you are the person or organisation named. A line we find to be wrong is corrected or withdrawn and the correction is recorded. How we do this is set out in How we collect and correct. If you are named in the feed, see also Why am I in this?

8. Our responsibility to you

EnergyInfluence is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that: (a) we are not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss; and (b) our total liability to you in connection with EnergyInfluence, however it arises, is limited to £100 while the service is free to you.

You are responsible for how you use what you read here. If a third party brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or misused the service, you will cover our reasonable losses from that claim.

9. Your account

Sign-in is by a link sent to your email address. Keep that inbox secure; whoever can open the link can open your account. You can ask us to close your account and delete your data at any time (see the privacy notice).

10. Changes

We may change EnergyInfluence at any time. We may change these terms; we will tell you by email before a change that matters takes effect, and where a change is materially worse for you we will ask you to agree again. Earlier versions are available on request.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes are to be decided by the courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre, which you and we expressly and specifically agree shall have exclusive jurisdiction; if that choice is not effective, by arbitration under the rules of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre, seated in the DIFC, in English, before one arbitrator. Nothing here removes a right that the law of your own country gives you and that cannot be contracted away.

12. General

If part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms and the pages they link to are the whole agreement between us about EnergyInfluence. Contact: ross@fourfold.work.
